New Orleans South African Connection - Nosaconn NOSACONN is non profit organization that uses music, culture and the arts to engage disconnected youth and equips students for future success.

NOSACONN is a non-profit organization that has been providing these urgently needed services and more to disadvantaged youth since 1998. NOSACONN's unique and innovative programs use music and the arts to connect with students and motivate them to stay in school to get an education. NOSACONN's programs expose students to current technology such as digital media and as well as cultural exchanges an

d the Louisiana tourism industry. In addition, NOSACONN tutors students on core subjects to help them be more successful in school. Due to its success in helping students at low performing schools improve academic performance, in 2012 NOSACONN was named as one of only eight "Turnaround Arts" awardees by the President's Committee for Arts . NOSACONN's positive approach of offering a hand up rather than a hand out is making a positive difference in the lives of at risk children as well as promoting positive values, goodwill and intercultural understanding.
