Updated Rules for the 2017 Carbon Challenge are ready!
Environmentally conscious New Orleanians,
Step up, Bike Up, or take public transportation to the plate. Eat Local NOLA, Bike Easy, The Green Project, Ride New Orleans and Energy Wise are challenging you to go 30 days being especially conscious of your carbon footprint and to take steps to minimize it. We have a assembled a series of tasks for you to complete to test your carbon reducing skills on the card below. A post on Instagram, or twitter, of yourself completing a task will be bring you points. In addition, 4 carbon reduction fun facts will be placed on each of the carbon challenge partners pages on June 17th as bonuses for each participant to collect. The one who completes the most tasks, wins.
$300 worth of prizes will be split between the 1st, 2nd, place winners Consolation prizes will be available for all who enter. Prizes include $100 in gift certificates from Hollygrove Market and Farm, $100 in gift certificates from the Green Project, Jazzy Passes from the RTA, Bike Lock, Power Strips, and much more.
Contestants NEED to be registered in the Eat Local Challenge to win prizes.
For points to count all posts tweets must tag and include the hashtag one other contest partner. ( Will have more chance of being retweeted if activity corresponds to partners mission.)
Contest officially begins at midnight on May 31st and ends at midnight on June 28th. Tweets or posts outside of those dates will not be counted.
At midnight June 28thwe will tally up the hashtag posts and the winners will be announced at the finale party at Cafe Carmo on Friday June 31st.
If the case of a tie, the prizes will be shared.
Participants are encouraged to come and check in at the Shop Green Project day on Saturday June 17th 9-5 and get 15% off (with your ELC ID Card). We will be tabling from 10 am to 1pm.
