Unfortunately, Stallings Gentilly Pool is now closed for the season due to an overnight pump malfunction that caused significant water loss and flooding around the electrical equipment.

With the electrical equipment being affected by the flooding, it’s not safe to keep the pool operating, so we have made the difficult decision to close for the season.

We’re saddened to see the summer end this way. Thank you to everyone who joined us this season. ❤️

There’s a lot happening at Bodenger Playground. 👀

Right now, lights are being repaired, old benches have been removed, and new basketball nets are in place. Roof work and repairs to the water fountain valve are also on the way.

Bodenger is also home to one of NORD’s strongest athletic programs, with more than 200 young people participating in tackle football. The program won the 2025 Sophomore Division I Citywide Championship, while the girls softball team captured the 2025 Citywide Championship.

But Bodenger is more than sports. It’s a place for kids to play, families to gather and neighbors to enjoy their community. We’re continuing to make improvements so this Algiers playground can better serve everyone who uses it.

A.L. Davis Playground is an important part of the community, offering space to play, gather and celebrate New Orleans culture.

The park features pickleball, tennis, covered basketball courts, a play structure and a large sports field. The stormwater management project on the field is nearly complete, and repairs are underway at the pool to address structural damage and leaks beneath the pool ahead of next summer.

A.L. Davis is also a longtime gathering place for St. Joseph’s Night, when Black Masking Indians and community members come together to celebrate a deeply special New Orleans tradition.

There’s more work to do, but these improvements are an important step in making the park a stronger space for the community.
