Congratulations to our 2026 scholarship recipient, .kobbeee ! 🎉 Jakobe is dedicated to increasing diversity and representation in physical therapy, knowing it strengthens trust, access, and outcomes for underrepresented patients. She is also a passionate advocate for underrepresented students and athletes, working to bridge gaps through inclusivity, mentorship, and culturally responsive care. She has brought these values to life through her service as DEI Representative at LSU HSC NO’s DPT program.

In Kobe’s free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Our president, Sheronda Bowers, attended EmpowHER Brunch, hosted by UNO athletics, highlighting the importance of mentorship for student-athletes. Sheronda also represented NABPT Nola at Dillard’s Alumni/Pre-Alumni Career Fair, educating our community about our profession and the power of representation.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN🎉

We are providing a 3rd year Louisiana PT student with a $1,000 scholarship to assist with NPTE fees. To be eligible for our scholarship, you must fulfill the following criteria: be in good standing with NABPT, have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, submit an unofficial transcript, and write a statement of career interest that discusses your commitment to increase support for underrepresented minorities in physical therapy.
