We understand the importance of supporting college students facing food insecurity—especially when there is not a grocery store nearby for miles. This Thanksgiving, we have stocked our community refrigerators with fresh sandwiches and ready-to-eat meals, ensuring no one goes hungry over the holiday break.

Food insecurity is real, and it disproportionately affects college students living in food deserts—where resources are scarce but the need is great.

Community support helps keep our refrigerators full and our community fed. Let’s work together to combat food insecurity and ensure everyone has access to the nourishment they need. If you are interested in making a donation or volunteering email us at [email protected]

Did you know that nearly 40% of college students experience food insecurity at some point during their academic journey? For many, balancing tuition, textbooks, and rent leaves little to no room for food, creating an overwhelming barrier to success.

At Southern University, we are tackling this with community refrigerators. Stocked with fresh, nutritious food, these fridges are accessible to all students, providing a no-questions-asked solution to hunger on campus.

Thanks to partnerships with local community organizations, we are able to make a real difference for students who need it most. From fresh fruits to sandwiches and healthy snacks, these efforts ensure that no student has to sacrifice their well-being for their education.

Together, we can fight food insecurity and empower students to focus on what really matters: their education and future success.
