Flashback to Negroni Week, we partnered with and to raise a glass—in support of resources—for the next generation of hospitality leaders. Hosted at Jewel of the South and supported by Campari via , their Italian Spirits Portfolio Ambassador, this fundraiser directly fuels Turning Tables’ Events Externship program, which gives our alumni hands-on training in real-time service, event ex*****on, and venue operations.

Shaun Williams —who once externed at Jewel and is now part of their award-winning team—returned to pour drinks and lead service, a full-circle moment for our community. Her growth from student to award-winning bartender is exactly what this program is about: real mentorship, real access, and real career-building.

If you’re a bar, brand, or venue looking to host an extern and open your doors to the next rising star in hospitality—we’d love to connect. This work only grows through partnership.
Deep gratitude to , the Jewel team, and all who came out to celebrate and support.

, Cohort 7 is a living testament to what happens when emerging leaders are seen, supported, and resourced. Ashley Starling is crafting more than cocktails—she’s curating experiences that linger long after the night ends.

Catch her at:
9.20 “Love Jones” 7-10PM
9.22 Brim Society Speakeasy 6-10PM

A proud Turning Tables alum, Ashley credits the program for giving her the structure, access, and mentorship she needed to evolve from bartender to experience designer. “I realized I needed aligned support to truly move into the next chapter of my career,” she shares. That support has led to major national opportunities, including Portland Cocktail Week, the Dr. Joy Spence Fellowship in Jamaica, and a commitment to building wellness-centered events for her peers. From her immersive “Love Jones” dinner (September 20, 7-10PM at Margaret Place) to the Brim Society Speakeasy (September 22, 6-10PM at Bacchanal), Ashley is bringing her storytelling vision to life, rooted in hospitality, connection, and care.

Ashley is living proof of what it means to turn momentum into movement. Join us in celebrating her vision, her voice, and the kind of storytelling that transforms the culture of hospitality.

We’re kicking off Negroni Week with one of our longest and most impactful partnerships: Jewel of the South x Turning Tables Collaboration!

This fundraiser supports our next Turning Tables externship — the same program that launched the career of Shaun Williams, our very first extern placed at Jewel. Shaun went on to join the Jewel team in receiving a James Beard Award, and has since traveled the world educating others about sake and hospitality.

Her journey came full circle when she hosted a Campari event featuring Wild Turkey — the very brand that sponsored her at Camp Runamok. This is what a real community of spirit looks like: partners investing in people, and those people pouring that investment back into the industry.

Come celebrate with us and help support the next rising star. All proceeds go toward supporting the next Turning Tables externship at Jewel of the South.

Monday, September 22, 5–7 PM at Jewel of the South.
Proudly sponsored by Campari.
