Just wanted to give an update!

KSF is still working out kinks in the planning phase, but this is something that is being worked on daily to assist the needs of people in the GNO.

We appreciate the patience at this time.

More than 430,000 LA households are enrolled in SNAP, yet, many people who qualify for SNAP often do not pursue the support they need. This is in part due to the stigma associated with food assistance programs.

Be up to date with NOLA Ready!

The New Orleans Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness continues to monitor all tropical weather in the Gulf and Atlantic. While there are NO tropical watches, warnings, or advisories currently in effect for the local area, now is the time to review your hurricane preparedness plans.

Showers and thunderstorms are showing signs of organization in association with a broad area of low pressure located over the central Gulf of Mexico.

Environmental conditions appear conducive for development of this system, and a tropical depression or tropical storm is likely to form before it reaches the western Gulf of Mexico coastline on Tuesday.

Interests in southern Texas and northern Mexico should monitor the progress of this system as tropical storm watches or warnings are likely to be issued later today.

Please be aware y’all - until we get registered with the city and IRS, we will not be operating. We are currently only accepting volunteers.

However, those in need can expedite the process by registering to their closest food bank. Instructions are:

1. Google “food banks (YOUR ZIP CODE)”
2. Write down the hours they operate, and the day.
3. Call them during operation hours or look for an online application.
4. Send them your identifying information.
5. Confirm you are registerred and someone else can pick up for you.

This removes the waiting process on the food pantries, and makes it quicker and easier for us to get you food.

Hello, KSF is currently building our volunteer reserves and would love to hear from individuals interested in volunteering!

The process is simple, go to this google form and fill out your information (https://forms.gle/9xhgcNqhNQaE5ARAA) and Alex will contact you via email to set up for Orientation. Once you've completed Orientation (which is a one hour meeting that will go over safety protocols), you will be given your hours and neighborhood!

This is a volunteer position so we do not reimburse gas (yet!) or pay the individuals volunteering (hopefully yet!).

KSF is here to bridge the gaps in community services offered to the people of the GNO area. We're a group of volunteers that delivery food from pantries to residences, all for free. We welcome all individuals to either volunteer or sign up for food delivery services.
