On April 16th, VEGGI Farmers Cooperative hosted a mobile market at NOELA in New Orleans East, continuing our commitment to increasing access to fresh, healthy, and locally grown produce in the neighborhood. 🌱🥬

Through initiatives like our mobile markets, we can work to bring nutritious food directly into the community while supporting local growers and building a stronger, healthier New Orleans East.

Thank you to and to everyone who came out and supported this effort.

Last week, Sông Community Development Corporation was honored to welcome partners from the Kresge Foundationfor a tour of the VEGGI Farmers Cooperative.

Together, we shared how community-led food systems connect directly to climate resilience, public health, and equity in New Orleans East. From increasing access to fresh produce to investing in sustainable local agriculture, this work shows how stronger communities are built from the ground up.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support initiatives that create a healthier, more resilient future for all. 🌱💧💚

This week, we’re highlighting Sông CDC’s journey to Vietnam during our retreat last October.

Our team traveled to reconnect with cultural roots, build relationships, and learn from communities whose stories mirror so much of New Orleans East.
From time on the water and shared meals to local history and everyday moments together, this trip reminded us that community is built through connection.
We’ll be sharing more reflections, photos, and stories throughout the week!

We are thrilled to announce that Resilient Youth Rising (RYR) has been awarded the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grant! This incredible opportunity will help us expand our mission to empower youth and create safer, healthier communities.

With this grant, we’ll be able to strengthen our efforts in promoting mental health, preventing substance misuse, and fostering resilience among youth in our community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our journey so far—this achievement wouldn’t be possible without you. Together, we’re building a brighter future!
