A handler's absolute nightmare: watching your K9 partner fighting for air, knowing you only have seconds to act.

When a foreign object completely blocked his K9's airway, this South Louisiana Police Service Canine Handler was thrust into a terrifying, life-or-death emergency. In those agonizing moments, panic can easily take over. But instead, his training took over.

As you can read in the attached Facebook post, David utilized the specialized canine pre-hospital care training provided by Anna 4 Paws to successfully dislodge the object and pull his partner back from the brink.

Understanding how deeply unbreakable the bond is between a handler and their canine partner, and how paralyzing the fear of losing them in the field can be. That split-second difference between tragedy and survival is exactly why Anna 4 Paws is so fiercely dedicated to equipping working canine teams with this vital medical training and equipment.

When the unthinkable happens, there is no time to wait for a vet. We are breathing a massive sigh of relief knowing David’s K9 partner is safe and still by his side.
