STEM is thriving on the Gulf Coast. 🚀🔬

This week, over 30 students gathered at the Family Enrichment Center for STEM Gulf Coast Summer Camp, where they explored hands-on activities centered around the physics of sound, chemistry, and rocket science. From creating marshmallow launchers and testing rocket propulsion to experimenting with screaming balloons, oobleck slime, and more, students spent the week learning by doing.

A special thank you to Extend A Hand Help A Hand and Jeffrey Hulum III for partnering with us to make these opportunities possible. Together, we are expanding access to high-quality STEM education and bringing hands-on learning experiences directly to communities across the Gulf Coast.

A room full of curious minds is a powerful thing. 🔬✨

Day 1 of STEM Gulf Coast Summer Camp is officially underway, and we're inspired by the enthusiasm of the students who walked through our doors eager to learn, explore, and discover the wonders of science.

As an organization serving Mississippi, we are especially grateful for the parents and families who recognize the value of STEM education and continue to invest in opportunities that help their children grow, learn, and dream bigger.

The response to this year's camp has been incredible. All three weeks of STEM Gulf Coast Summer Camp reached capacity, demonstrating the strong demand for hands-on STEM experiences in our community. We are also very grateful for Extend A Hand Help A Friend for helping us make this possible.

This week's young scientists are diving into the world of chemistry, and we can't wait to see what they create, test, and discover along the way. Stay tuned for a week full of experiments, innovation, and fun!

We were honored to welcome State Representative Jeffrey Hulum III, CEO of Extend A Hand Help A Friend, and Jeannine, Director of the organization, to the first day of STEM Gulf Coast Summer Camp.

Extend A Hand Help A Friend is a community-focused organization dedicated to creating opportunities and providing resources that uplift families and young people throughout Mississippi. Through our partnership, we're expanding access to hands-on STEM learning experiences that inspire students to explore, create, and innovate.

Rev up your engines for STEM Saturday: Force & Motion – Cars with STEM Gulf Coast! 🚗💨

K-12 students will explore the principles of force and motion through exciting, hands-on STEM activities at the Donal Snyder Recreation Center on June 20, 2026.
Students will learn how force creates motion, apply these concepts to real-world experiments, and build their own grade-appropriate race cars to test and race at the end of the day! 🏁🔬

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming interest in STEM Gulf Coast Summer Camp. Due to high demand, all camp sessions have reached capacity and registration is now closed.

We also want to acknowledge the confusion regarding camp registration and fees. We apologize for any misunderstanding or inconvenience this may have caused our families. For those affected, refunds have been processed (or are currently being processed).

While summer camp is full, this is not the end of STEM learning this summer! STEM Gulf Coast remains committed to providing opportunities for students to explore, create, and discover through hands-on STEM experiences. We will continue offering activities and events throughout the summer and look forward to engaging even more students and families across our community.

📢 Important STEM Gulf Coast Summer Camp Update

We would like to apologize for the confusion some families have experienced during the registration process.

To clarify: STEM Gulf Coast Summer Camp is 100% FREE for all participants.

If you are registering, please make sure you select "STEM Gulf Coast Summer Camp" in the registration portal. Some families may have accidentally selected a STEM NOLA camp, which carries a registration fee. Gulf Coast camps do not require any registration fee.

We appreciate your patience as we've worked to address questions and ensure everyone has the correct information. Our team is excited to welcome campers next week for a summer full of hands-on STEM activities, discovery, creativity, and fun!
