The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter, were honored to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this morning.

Our chapter participated in a unity march, an interfaith church service, and other community activities alongside religious leaders and organizations from across the community. Marching together reflected the powerful spirit of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s and Dr. King’s enduring call for justice, equality, and service to all mankind. 💗💚

✨ Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Through Service ✨

In the spirit of Dr. King’s legacy, Omicron Lambda Omega Chapter proudly participated in “We Are One” AKA Service Day, a key component of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s Strengthen Our Sisterhood Programs Initiative.

We partnered with the Salvation Army Center of Hope’s The Next Chapter Program, which supports college students experiencing homelessness and young adults transitioning out of homelessness. Together, we remodeled an on-site computer lab and reading/study area to create a more welcoming and empowering space for scholars on their journey.
