$5 FRIDAY - our goal is five (5) monthly donors to our General Fund in June, and we are so grateful to the three (3) donors who have signed up! Thank you Matt, David, and Evelyn 🩷

Congratulations to Salma of Farinella ! We entered all our donors from the June 14 Hype Fest event into a raffle to win a prize pack donated by Urban South (Urban South NOLA ). Salma was a fellow vendor at the event, selling her delicious baked goods. We ate five (5) strawberry corn cookies just ourselves, they were amazing. 🍓 🌽 🍪

Our merch is exclusive. It's limited-run. It's unique. It's because we make it ourselves, around our FTAF Boardroom table (our marketing director's dining table) surrounded by our rescue pets.

ALL merch is priced as a suggested donation to our General Fund or to one of our fundraising campaigns for a specific animal in our care. We love making vintage style motel keychains, super weird eyeball brooches, and have begun making jewelry and hats! Our merch is available at our pop up events and for online order at the link in our bio.

Oops, we are growing too fast!!!!! Help needed! 🩷

We have a wonderful problem: we have had such a big, positive reception from the New Orleans community that we have almost too many events scheduled and animals to rescue! We knew when we started this work that we would meet an important need: adoptable animals that need a little extra medical eyeball help to get from "adoption floor" to "adopted." We thought it would be fun and informative to set up tables at local breweries and events to spread the word and sell some handmade merch to raise money. And it IS fun 👁️🩷

We have been overwhelmed, in the BEST way, by the response. Small business owners are offering space and support, community members are donating, and the LASPCA has a list of animals we can help next. Plus, the busiest intake season for LASPCA is on the way: hurricane season.

We need help. We are so, so grateful and excited to be in this position.

Are you interested in joining us at a small event to set up a table, chat with folks to tell them about our mission, fundraise, and get special VIP access to Gretchen herself? How about fostering a rescue pull through surgical recovery to adoption, all food/medications/etc provided? Do you have a fun idea or connection that could help get the FTAF word out, and you can set it up on our behalf (Anne really wants to set up a Gretchen's Tea Spilling event but doesn't know where to start)? 10+ years old. 130 lbs. fully aware that if she just goes completely limp, total dead weight, nobody will fight her INTO the bath.

unfortunately for Cherry Pie… i lift heavy. it's been a while since I deadlifted 130lbs but bb WE DID THAT and we DID NOT throw out our back 💪🏼

she smelled terrible, for the record. the bath was non-negotiable. I completely understand why she wins the bath argument every time.

but look at her now. 🧼

Cherry Pie, a gorgeous, sweet, quiet, loving mastiff, came to us from the LASPCA with a cherry eye, an ear infection, and a highly successful decade-long bath avoidance strategy. thanks to the amazing community at Skeeta Hawk Brewery trivia night who donated to our General Fund, we were able to pull her and get her initial care started.

she still needs:
- cherry eye surgery (~$1,000)
- dental cleaning for mild periodontal disease (~$800)
- medication to finish her ear treatment (it was a real bad one y'all, but she's on the mend)

can you help us?

she is sweet, she is gentle, she is opposed to hygiene — and she deserves a family who will love her and also not let her win the bath argument. maybe two powerlifting adopters. With a hydraulic lift.

We are SO GRATEFUL to and the awesome crowd at Thursday Trivia Night! Gretchen dressed as a Skeeta Hawk for the occasion, obviously, though she had no problem being recognized as a fairy, a princess, or a butterfly. 🦟🦋👑

We had a wildly successful night meeting the community and getting our name and work out there. We raised $325 from the trivia night attendees and were completely shocked by that - we are overwhelmed by the positive reception and so grateful that you support our rescue animals and our mission. 🩷

Gretchen was mostly sleepy but I can confirm she slept very well knowing how many new adoring fans she has. Thank you for fulfilling her heart's desire for unconditional adoration.

Lagniappe: we raised enough money at the event to pull Cherry Pie 🍒 from our partner, the LAPSCA!!!!! We have a new FTAFamily member!!!! 🐶

Special thanks to Victoria on the bar and the Skeeta Hawk owners for opening their doors and hearts (and eyes) to us. The trivia night emcee gave us several shout outs which had folks coming to visit between rounds - thank you!
