Swipe for sneak peeks!! Photo dump from the last week since we've been quiet in socials. JUST ONE WEEK. Woof.

Please enjoy this selection of FTAF adoptables and alums living their best lives. Last week Lilac (adoptable) took a road trip and learned about cars and pup cups. She was nervous but did very well and spent a long weekend playing with big dogs. She has grown SO MUCH in her confidence with new environments and animal friends. She will make a perfect companion dog for her future family, whether humans only or with dogs and cats 🩷

Lilac also met FTAF alum Kurtis! He had two big cherry eyes when we pulled him, and look at him now. He still gets ointment for allergies (maybe his allergies irritated his glands in the first place?) and you can see he's still got a little pink on the right that I keep watching, but he's healthy, happy, deeply loved by his family, and with gorgeous eyes. He's thriving. 🩷

We've been to see Dr. Bass three times this week for vaccines, check ups, and new intakes (swipe for sneak peek). She's always happy to meet our new animals and help us get them ready for adoption. Shout out to the VCA Algiers Animal Hospital family who takes such good care of us 🩷

We've ALSO been to Mandeville three times this week for surgeries and consultations, and TJ had a successful surgery! He feels SO much better and is cuddling up a storm when he was previously uncomfortable and wanted space. His foster mom is trying not to keep him. TJ is healing and will be available for adoption later this month 🩷

You know Gretchen. 🩷

Ooops new color way and design .... Wouldn't think look cute on a hat? Or a tote bag? Or both 🩷

And here's Max! He's English, we think! More to come ....... He's perfect. 🩷

Remember Lollipop, who had a whole appendage protruding from her face where an eyeball should be? IT MOVED. She gained enough weight to have her enucleation and somehow that increased her energy and loving nature!! She's playing hard, dancing, climbing, doing everything healthy kittens do. She's a love bug. Lollipop still needs her spay and will be available for adoption later this month 🩷

More to come, but have a great long weekend! We will be recovering 🩷

We asked Lollipop to help us film an unboxing video. How did she do?

Thank you SO much for the donation from our Chewy wishlist! This Royal Canin USA wet food is the kitten food our medical kitties like best, we have found, for both healing after surgery and weaning from milk to dry kibble. And this cone from KONG Company is the tiniest one we can find, so teeny babies like Lollipop can have a safe recovery. Thank you so much!!!!

Our wishlist is in our bio. Thank you for keeping us fed and going. 🩷

We're in second place! Whether you're running the 5K or cheering us from the sidelines, consider making a small donation to our team. We are in second place overall for fundraising 🩷

Our goal is $1500, which represents the average cost of one eyeball surgery and follow up care for an adoptable animal in our rescue. We have raised $243, so we're on our way. Even a $5 donation helps cover the cost of medications, food, or a recovery cone. Or a toy or a snack for our bbs, we all need treats

Please share and help us get to no. 1!

We're running (or walking tbh) in the 2026 NOLA Dogs "Race to the Rescue" 5K on October 11 to raise funds for Fuzzy Towers Animal Foundation — a New Orleans micro-rescue for small dogs and cats with treatable eye conditions. $1,500 fully funds one animal's entire journey, from pu...

Huge thanks to the attendees of the Dog Days of Summer event at Urban South and the FTAFriends and Family who came out to see us this weekend. We met a ton of great people, vendors, and new friends both canine and human. We raised nearly $300 in funds from sales and donations for TJ, Lilac, and Lollipop's medical funds. Next stop: the eyeball specialists.

Special shout out to Urban South Brewery for hosting us as a vendor during the event. We had a blast and are thankful you have been such a great partner for us and our adoptables

Oh! We debuted our personalized Pooch on a Brooch (see photos). Comment to learn more ⬇️

New Orleans: Yes, I made two (2) Gretchens.

We've been repeatedly asked for custom and personalized jewelry since we began. Folks always want to see their pet represented (same) and we love making pet owners happy. We crafted. We failed. We glued our fingers together. We made Gretchen upside down.

But we nailed it. Now presenting: personalized brooches or necklace charms featuring YOUR PET.

Come visit our table at Urban South NOLA 's Dog Days of Summer event on Saturday August 22 from 1-5pm to get your very own!

Limited quantity available, though we will offer pre-order if we run out.

All proceeds (of all our merch) go directly to the animals in our care, like Lilac and Lollipop and TJ. Buy a personalized jewelry, directly fund an adoptable animals medical care 🩷

Just want to donate, no merch required? Check out the links in our bio!

TJ took a road trip! We met the kind folks at Southern Veterinary Eye Care and they got TJ out of his shell and into some cat treats. The rumours are true: a cherry eye on a cat is super rare! Skulls and eyeballs are weird!!

In TJ's case, it appears entropion (flipped under eyelid) on his lower eyelid could have pressured the nictitans gland to pop out. While the doctors aren't concerned about the gland health (it is still producing tears) and his eyeball seems developed and healthy (woo hoo!!), TJ would benefit from a blepheroplasty (okay fancy) and a cherry eye correction to allow his eye to operate more normally and for TJ to experience more full vision throughout his lifetime.

TJ is a great example of why Fuzzy Towers came to be. He is a healthy and sweet, if shy, kitty who might not get adopted from the shelter due to his visible eye condition. It's not causing him pain and he has good vision, but he'll be more comfortable and potentially reduce future complications with surgery now at his young age. And look at that handsome face! We are excited for both of TJ's beautiful eyeballs to be on full display once his surgery is complete. TJ will be ready for his forever home very soon, and his future family will be so lucky to have him.

TJs surgery is scheduled for early September. We've started his fundraising - can you help us finish it? Check out TJs campaign via the links in our bio!

Thank you Southern Veterinary Eye Care ! We'll be making the road trip to see y'all again soon 👁️🩷

Our little silly face baby is feeling so much better in medical foster. She's starting to meet the veterinarians and specialists who will help her on her eyeball journey! We've begun her fundraising efforts and look forward to getting her care scheduled.

Lilac was identified because she had a cherry eye and a corneal ulcer, but the ulcer started to heal with medication. The doctors will be able to tell us what's next: can her eyeball be saved? Is it healthier and safer to enucleate? Does she wanna wear a patch for a while and go by Captain Lilac orrrrrrrr

Do they make false eyes for dogs? Like glass ones? ..... Let me go find out actually

Time and medical appointments will tell Lilac's story. Follow Lilac's journey here, and donate to her care via the link in our bio 🩷

That's cheese whiz on her little face, she loves a cheesy squeeze 😍

Absolute pleasure to be at the Piety Market at Hotel Peter & Paul today! A beautiful crowd, lovely music, and great air conditioning. Wonderful way to spend the third Sunday of every month 🩷

We raised nearly $300 for our medical fosters. Thank you to all who donated, purchased, and followed us! Welcome to our weird world of eyeballs!!
