Our brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly.

In the 4 years since he’s been with us, we started a tournament in his honor, raised money through fundraising to give scholarships to deserving students, started an official non-profit organization in his name, and created a legacy for him that will last a lifetime. We did all of this because this is what he would do for us.

He was the best higher, biggest smiler, and happiest person you’d ever come across. Until we meet again🍻❤️

“What began as a way to honor Mongo has blossomed into something so much bigger—a movement that brings people together, encourages future generations to serve others, and reminds us all that one life filled with love can create a lasting impact.

Mongo lived life with meaning and purpose. Through Pamilya, Kapwa, and Mahal.

Pamilya — creating a family where everyone belongs.

Kapwa — serving others with compassion and recognizing that we are all connected.

Mahal — loving each precious person deeply and making them feel seen, welcomed, and valued.

Christopher “Mongo” Lomongo’s legacy continues to inspire kindness, generosity, laughter, and service. His smile lives on in every volunteer, every donor, every player, every scholarship, every hug, and every life touched through this foundation.

Let’s continue to Live Like Mongo, keep Leaving Footprints, and make sure he is Forever Smiling.”

We will never have enough words to describe the effect this Foundation has had on people. Whether you’re here to play volleyball, donate money, remember our friend Mongo, or spread love, everyone who showed up Saturday means the world to us. Without you Mongo’s legacy wouldn’t reach as far as it does. We continue to be in awe of our community and how powerful interactions can be. Continue to pay it forward, smile, and live life to the fullest, because that is what Mongo would do❤️

Happiest of birthdays to Mongo’s mom, Lilia—better known as Lola! ❤️Today, let’s celebrate the amazing woman who raised the Flyin’ Hawaiian and continues to spread love wherever she goes.

If you’ve had the privilege of meeting her, you know she has one of the kindest hearts you’ll ever encounter. We are incredibly grateful for everything she does for our family and the Mongo Forever Smiling Foundation.
