From an organization that is diversifying and increasing the number of people in New Orleans who learn to sail boats (Community Sailing New Orleans), to an organization that teaches young people how to play chess (Strategic Thoughts NOLA), to an organization advocating to make bus fare free for people 24 and under (Ride New Orleans), there’s no limit to the solidarity that is strengthening the people within the Greater New Orleans area! Happy Youth Justice Action month! New Orleans Youth Alliance Fellowship Alumna Deja Jones and Alexis Reed and NOYA Fellowship Coordinator Ahmaad Lott have been working hard the past few months in collaboration with the Youth Justice Advocates Coalition to organize a series of events for Youth Justice Action Month!

Today 2022 NOYA Fellow Nakeshia Buckner presented at a city council special presentation alongside Louisiana Center for Children's Rights leaders! She shared where investment is needed for young people and highlighted young people as leaders and consultants.

This Saturday we will host our Block Party:Resource Fair! Join us for face painting, spacewalks/bounce houses, a small grocery distribution, and activities at organizations’ tables. If your organization would like to participate, please email Deja at [email protected]
