Who else has done this? 😂 Leaving your laptop in your hotel room during a conference is one thing, but realizing you need it for a coding workshop you wanted to participate in? 😭

At least being laptop-free forces you to make meaningful connections! And there were plenty of those at the Blue Horizon Summit! 🌊

Day 2 of the Blue Horizon Summit did not go as planned… it was even better!

Despite the storm, we were able to create a more intimate conference experience, have meaningful conversations, and explore new opportunities for collaboration in ocean sciences. We had an amazing session solely focused on marine predators, where members of Minorities in Shark Sciences (MISS) were able to share their work. Plus, we had a phenomenal in-person keynote from none other than Wawa Gatheru from Black Girl Environmentalist !

Sometimes the unexpected moments turn out to be the best ones!

😂 It was great connecting with everybody at the Blue Horizon Summit last week! We definitely had a time! It’s looking like we need more in-person meetups because what is going on??

Like many small organizations, we’re balancing big ideas with limited capacity and funding… but you can help!

The first full day of the Blue Horizon Summit was phenomenal! We had 3 amazing panels from ocean leaders, 1 phenomenal keynote with Diving With A Purpose and of course a really cool poster session during our evening blue pulse!

Wild animals are on the climate team! 🌍

From dugongs spreading seeds through seagrass meadows to tigers regulating herbivore populations, animals help shape how ecosystems function and store carbon.

More than 350 scientists have endorsed the Scientific Consensus on Wildlife and Climate. A new peer-reviewed article in Global Change Biology reinforces their call: Give wildlife a seat at the climate table.

Protecting wildlife also means protecting the ecological relationships that help keep our planet resilient. 🌊
