✨ January Mentee of the Month: Alomiza ✨

We’re proud to celebrate Alomiza as our January Mentee of the Month for her perseverance, dedication, and commitment to bettering her life for herself and her son.

This month wasn’t easy. Between transportation challenges, her son getting sick back-to-back from daycare, and navigating it all on her own, Alomiza still showed up and kept pushing forward. Through it all, she maintained a positive outlook and continued prioritizing her goals.

Her mentor Daphney shared how proud she is of Alomiza for staying focused, working hard, and continuing to make progress — even during challenging moments. We’re cheering her on and know she will do great.

Alomiza reminds us what resilience looks like. 💕

The Black Maternal Health Week Block Party is 43 days away and we are getting ready for our biggest celebration yet! 💕

Join us on April 11 from 12–4 PM for a day centered on Black maternal health, community, and joy. This year we’re bringing back so many of the things you love:

•A powerful panel on Black maternal health and advocacy
•A special celebrity guest joining us for meaningful conversations
•Diaper and baby essentials giveaways
•Free wellness experiences for moms
•Community partners sharing valuable resources
•A dedicated Kid Zone for the little ones
•Great food and music to keep the celebration going

This event is all about making sure mothers feel supported, celebrated, and connected to the resources they deserve.

Last year during our Black Maternal Health Week Block Party, we had the honor of recognizing two incredible partners who truly embody what it means to support mothers and families in our community. 💗

Labor & Love received our Heart of Service Award for their unwavering commitment to maternal health and the care and support they provide to mothers throughout their journeys.

Javon Rhodes of Walmart received our Rooted in Community Award for his continued dedication to supporting families and strengthening our community.

Jamie has shown incredible growth, grace, and grit this month. From the beginning, she has been open to learning, willing to be vulnerable, and committed to showing up for herself and others.

She takes feedback and turns it into action, celebrates others’ wins, and keeps pushing forward even when things get hard. Watching her confidence grow has been a true joy, and she embodies what it means to be a One Happy Mama—leading with love, purpose, and positivity.

This Saturday, our moms participated in a powerful Money Management Workshop led by Marci Clines from Xplore Federal Credit Union—equipping them with practical tools to budget, plan, and build toward financial stability for themselves and their families.

A heartfelt thank you to CrescentCare for opening up their beautiful space to us, and to The Honey Baked Ham of Gretna for sponsoring lunch and nourishing our moms as they poured into their future.

Help us celebrate Marci, whose commitment has gone above and beyond this month! She has not only shown up for her mentee with consistency and care, but she has also volunteered at every OHM workshop to support our full community of moms.

Her mentee shared that Marci is helping her step out of her comfort zone, attend new events, and get involved in empowering spaces for women and that guidance is already making a real difference.

Marci, thank you for leading with heart, presence, and purpose. Your impact extends far beyond mentoring… you’re building confidence, connection, and community.

A little holiday magic looks like this… ✨💅🏽

Kelli () had the beautiful idea to honor our One Happy Mama moms with a Holiday Self-Care Bundle — treating them to manicures and pedicures .nola and hairstyling through as a way to celebrate their hard work, resilience, and the love they pour into their families every day.

Seeing our girls relax, laugh, feel seen, and simply be poured into was everything.

Thank you Kelli and Cesar Ruiz for believing in our moms, for making them feel valued, and for reminding them that they deserve care too.
