Thank YOU for donating this Give Nola Day!
We were able to raise $7,850 from 101 donors. Your donations allow us to continue growing our programming areas of providing free glass recycling, K-12 STEM education, and coastal resilience. Every contribution helps and we are grateful for everyone who showed their support for Glassroots this Give Nola Day.

Do you know where your recycled glass goes? ๐ŸŒ€

When you drop off glass at one of our free New Orleans locations, it gets ground into sand by our partners at Glass Half Full โ€” and that sand gets put to work. We use it to fill eco-friendly burlap sandbags that are distributed to residents across the greater New Orleans area ahead of storm season.

Itโ€™s a full circle: your recycling becomes flood protection for your neighbors.

To date, weโ€™ve distributed 545 sandbags and counting. Your Give NOLA Day donation helps us reach even more residents who need them.

The countdown continues with just two more days until
Give NOLA Day ๐ŸŽ‰

Each donation, whether $10, $25, or $100, goes to supporting our programming of Coastal Restoration efforts, K-12 STEM education, Green Infrastructure projects, and, of course, free glass recycling made possible by our partnership with .co .

We are so excited to be partnering with on something really special ๐ŸŒฟ

Weโ€™re bringing STEM to second grade through a hands-on experiment growing, sunflowers in different textures of recycled glass sand to learn about seed growth, materials, and what we can do with the glass we throw away.

AND weโ€™ve paired our experiment with a glass drive hosted by the lower grades.

Science, recycling, and sprouts all in one ๐ŸŒฑ
