This has been an exciting 2026 Summer.(The European experience in Germany, France & Spain and standing in the Mississippi River at Lake Itasca, MN), but, I digress. I always cringe when someone calls me a "subject matter expert." I look to Robert Collins explain that term. Afterall, we are Fair Dillard . Nonetheless, I'm embracing the title. Earlier this month there was the interview with Fisher of the "Daily Drum," NPR Affiliate WHUR,Howard University, Washington, DC. The local NPR Affiliate WWNO, New Orleans, LA with Rob Popvich picked up the story regarding cities and communities assessing their risk and vulnerabilities. Having conversations about mitigating and developing strategies in Black & Brown communities goes way beyond the effects of the Urban Hear Island Effect, imposing stormwater management fees and flooding caused by stormwater runoff. Tune into either station to hear the re-broadcast. Thank You to my fellow co-guests Maryland Delegate Karen R. Towles and D Jon Robinson for participating with the DC Segment and Greg Kats of the Smart Surfaces Coalitions for being my fellow co-guest for the New Orleans segment.
