CT HOBY

CT HOBY is Connecticut's chapter of the Hugh O' Brian Youth Leadership Organization. He challenged O'Brian to do something with his resources.

Founded in 1958, Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership was founded to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within our global society through understanding and action based on effective and compassionate leadership. Actor Hugh O'Brian, who is famous for his portrayal of Wyatt Earp, was inspired by a visit to Dr. Albert Switzer the German doctor-missionary-theologian-musician. Swit

zer believed that the United States was the only place with the resources to solve the global issues of poverty and peace. And nearly 50 years and 345,000 alumni later, HOBY has become a global organization dedicated to molding high school sophomores into leaders. Its mission: to provide lifelong leadership development opportunities that empower individuals to achieve their highest potential.

Friendly reminder of our upcoming service event this Sunday, June 29th, at Long Wharf Park (351 Long Wharf Drive, New Haven, CT) from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. 🌊

The social portion of the event will go from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, so please ensure whoever is driving you knows when to pick you up!🍕

Tips for Volunteering:
👚Wear your favorite HOBY t-shirt and comfortable sneakers.
💧Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated on this hot summer day.
🚙Consider carpooling with an alum who lives nearby.
