The Village Food Pantry

Today, the Village Food Pantry had the privilege of welcoming the One Village Summer Camp for a day of learning, service, and fun!

Our young visitors got a behind-the-scenes look at how the pantry serves individuals and families throughout our community. More importantly, they experienced firsthand what it means to serve others. Campers rolled up their sleeves and helped prepare jelly bags that will be distributed to Pantry neighbors in the coming weeks. It was inspiring to watch these young people embrace the spirit of volunteerism and understand that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

The adventure continued with a scavenger hunt throughout the pantry, where campers worked together to search for food items, learn about the products we distribute, and discover how food donations help support local families. Every camper participated, every camper succeeded, and every camper went home with a prize.

Of course, no visit would be complete without food, laughter, and plenty of smiles! The campers enjoyed lunch, a sweet treat, and time together while learning valuable lessons about compassion, generosity, and community service.

One of the most rewarding moments of the day came when a young camper told our Executive Director that he was so impressed by the Pantry and the work being done here that he was going to ask his mom if he could volunteer after Summer Camp is over. For us, that moment alone made the day worthwhile. It reminded us that when we invest in young people and teach them the value of serving others, we are helping build the next generation of community leaders and volunteers.

We believe it is never too early to teach the importance of helping others, and today's campers showed us that the future of our community is bright. Thank you to One Village Summer Camp for spending the day with us and allowing us to share our mission with these amazing young people.

The Village Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth.

There will be no Pantry distribution on Friday, June 19. We encourage Pantry neighbors to plan ahead and visit during our regularly scheduled distribution hours earlier in the week.

The Pantry will resume normal operations on Monday, June 22, 2026.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time for reflection, remembrance, and celebration of freedom.

The Village Food Pantry is pleased to share this wonderful opportunity for students in the New Miami community!

One Village of New Miami is launching its FREE Summer Snack Program to help ensure that local students have access to snacks throughout the summer months when school is not in session.

If you have a student in grades K–12 attending New Miami Local Schools, be sure to take advantage of this great program. We encourage families to share this information with friends, neighbors, and anyone who may benefit.

Supporting our children and families is a community effort, and we are grateful for organizations that continue to invest in the well-being of our youth.

**NOTICE OF HOLIDAY CLOSURE**

**The Village Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.**

**There will be no food distribution on that day.** We encourage Pantry neighbors to plan accordingly and visit during our regularly scheduled distribution hours earlier in the week.

Normal Pantry operations will resume on Monday, June 22, 2026.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Juneteenth as we recognize and reflect on this important day in our nation's history.

Today was the first day of our new check-in policy, and we are pleased to report that everything went very smoothly. We would like to thank our Pantry neighbors for their cooperation and understanding as we implemented this change.

As a reminder, clients must be **CHECKED IN** 10 minutes prior to closing to receive food assistance for that day.

Check-In Closing Times:

Monday & Tuesday
Pantry Hours: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Check-In Closes: 12:50 PM

Wednesday
Pantry Hours: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Check-In Closes: 6:20 PM

Friday

This policy helps our dedicated volunteers complete distributions in a timely manner while continuing to provide efficient and respectful service to everyone we serve.

We are pleased to share that the Village Food Pantry pickup truck has been returned.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our previous post, offered prayers, expressed concern, and reached out with support. Your kindness and willingness to help are greatly appreciated.

As this matter is currently being handled by law enforcement, we will not be making any further public comment at this time.

We are grateful to have the vehicle back and look forward to continuing our mission of serving individuals and families throughout our community.

🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT 🚨

It is with great disappointment that we share that the Village Food Pantry's pickup truck has been stolen.

The vehicle is a **2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck**. An older photo of the truck is attached to this post; however, since that photo was taken, the truck's cargo bed was replaced. The truck currently has a **gray cab and a white cargo bed**. The theft occurred sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday evening and has been reported to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

This truck is much more than a vehicle. It is an important part of our mission, helping us pick up food donations, transport supplies, and serve the hundreds of families who rely on the Pantry each week. The loss of this vehicle directly impacts our ability to carry out that work efficiently.

We are asking our community to help us keep an eye out for the truck. If you see a vehicle matching this description or have any information that may assist in the investigation, please contact the Butler County Sheriff's Office. Please do not attempt to approach anyone or investigate on your own.

While this situation is discouraging, we remain committed to serving our neighbors and continuing our mission. We are grateful for the support, prayers, and encouragement we have already received from so many members of our community.

We believe in the strength of our community and are hopeful that, with your help, this vehicle can be located and returned.

Beginning one week from today, on June 1, 2026, the Village Food Pantry will begin closing check-in 10 minutes prior to posted closing times.

To receive food assistance for the day, clients must be checked in before the following times:

The Village Food Pantry will be closed on **Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026**.

As we pause for the holiday, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
