Brethren,

It is with sadness, but in the certainty of our resurrection to eternal life, I report to you the death of Worshipful Brother Thomas William Hurte on Thursday.

Worshipful Brother Thomas Willam Hurte was born in Paint Lick, KY on November 16th, 1930 to Chester and Grace Hurte.

He petitioned Matamoras #374 Free and Accepted Masons on December 18th, 1958 and was elected to membership on January 24th, 1959.

He was initiated an Entered Apprenticeship on February 28th, 1959, passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on April 4th, 1959, and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on June 6th, 1959.

He held the following Lodge Offices: Senior Deacon 1961, Junior Warden 1962, Senior Warden 1963, Worshipful Master 1964, and Trustee 1965-1967.

He departed this life on July 16th, 2026 at Marietta, Ohio at age 95 years, 8 months. He was a Master Mason for 67 years, 1 month, and 10 days.

Matamoras #374 is grateful for WB Hurte’s years of support and leadership and offers the Hurte family and friends our sincere condolences.

A visitation is being held Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026, from 3-5 PM at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marya, WV. A Masonic Service will begin at 5PM, followed by a funeral service.

It is with sadness, but in the certainty of our resurrection to eternal life, I report to you WB Ray Hubbard has passed, A Masonic Service is being held Thursday, July 9, 2026, 8:00 PM, at Bauer Turner Funeral Home, 100 South Paul Street, Woodsfield, OH 43793. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, at 4-8 PM.

He held the following Matamoras #374 offices; Senior Steward 1961, Junior Deacon 1962, Junior Warden 1963, Senior Warden 1964, Worshipful Master in 1965, and Trustee 1966-1969.

Matamoras #374 expresses its heartfelt gratitude for his years of service to our Lodge and offer his family and friends our sincere condolence.

A BIG SHOUTOUT to our community for your support at our monthly Community Breakfast. At our May breakfast we served 101 meals, getting close to our record attendance prior to the Covid pandemic!

Our breakfast profits support state and local charities. In the past we have supported Matamoras baseball and softball teams, Matamoras pool, Frontier High School athletic breakfast, Frontier sports, and local individuals who no need a helping hand. All this is made possible by your generous support for our Community Breakfast.
