It’s FRIDAY and it's time for the FRIDAY FIVE! We’ve got a festival, a farmers market, Vacation Bible Schools and more on this second weekend of summer!
• CREEKFEST: It’s finally here! Creekfest in the Historic Mossy Creek district in downtown Jefferson City opens today at 4:00 pm. There will be live music, vendors, food trucks, a 5k, rubber duck race and a beer garden! It will run 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm today and 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday.
• CREEKFEST 5k: Run through historic Mossy Creek! The Creekfest 5k starts at 8:30 am. Registration is open up until start time. The race will begin at Mossy Creek Station and wrap around the historic Mossy Creek District including local parks and greenways. Check in at Mossy Creek Station, 711 E. Main St, Jefferson City, Tennessee.
• JEFFERSON CITY OUTDOOR POOL: Summer is underway and the Jefferson City outdoor pool is OPEN! The hours are Monday - Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The pool is located at 704 W. Jefferson Street in Jefferson City.
• DANDRIDGE FARMERS MARKET: Find many varieties of flowers and all types of fresh foods carefully grown and raised by local farmers and growers on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The market takes place at 214 W. Main Street in Dandridge.
• VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: We know of several are churches beginning�Vacation Bible School over the weekend. Oak Hills Baptist Church (Highway 92) kicks off their VBS with a free Family Carnival on Saturday, May 30th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Beaver Creek Baptist and Central Heights Baptist begin on Sunday, May 31st. Beaver Creek from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Central Heights from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. New Market Baptist begins on Monday, June 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. There are many others throughout the county. You can find a listing of area Baptist churches and their VBS dates and times in ad in this week's copy of The Standard Banner (print and online). If your church has a VBS, feel free to drop the place, date and time in the comments.
