Madison County Shooting Sports Association - MCSSA

Madison County Shooting Sports Association - MCSSA MCSSA is a nonprofit, NRA affilated membership club located in Sharon Johnston Park near New Market, Alabama, just 20 minutes from downtown Huntsville.

The purpose of the Madison County Shooting Sports Association (MCSSA) is to promote the shooting sports by providing a safe and comfortable place for the public and its members to enjoy recreational shooting. MCSSA is maintained and operated by its members, providing:

Three skeet fields

Three trap fields

Five stand (currently under construction)

A covered, 50 yard pistol, black powder, and rim

fiire rifle range. The range is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday (except Christmas and New Year's Day weekends) from 9:00 am until 3:00pm. Members are permitted to shoot from 7:00 am until 9:00 pm every day. The range also offers various paper targets for sale. Target stands and cardboard backers are complementary. Guests are welcome to bring their own targets, provided the targets are approved by the on-duty range-master. The range does not provide ammunition or firearms for sale or rent. For the convenience of our members and guests, the climate controlled clubhouse has chilled water, a refrigerator, microwave oven, and indoor restrooms. We offer sodas and bottled water for sale. There are picnic tables and a barbeque pit available on the club grounds.

The Sports-Fire Rim-Fire matches are scheduled for this Saturday, May 9,at 3:30 pm (after the range closes to the public) on the pistol range. It’s open to all members and the public. Cost is the Range Fee ($5.00 non-members $2.00 members). For those of you that are just curious, you’re welcome to come out and watch (free).
