Still thankful to the local businesses who supported our Eagle Scout Candidates working on building the Project: RAKE garage so that we could better equip our students for the work in our community, helping our neighbors live warmer, dryer, safer lives.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW: SAFETY
Students are not allowed to Drive or Operate Heavy Machinery, including but not limited to back hoes and front end loaders. However, we do allow students to operate nail guns, augers, and pneumatic and electric jack hammers with proper equipment, guidance and safety instruction. If in doubt about whether a student can operate a machine, please call Drew.

THINGS you find when reviewing old Project Rake Volunteer Crew Chief manuals from February 2010... Page 7... Makes me a laugh.... the thing was, we had teenagers who were skilled enough... and we focused on teaching how to do stuff... and some of them grew up on farms.... that it was a real possibility that someone would let a few of our teenagers run the machine.... We were so blessed!! Reading this manual, I'm convinced, the only way this thing worked, was because God was at the center of it. WOW.

Happy Memories... there was something fun about driving around, and seeing blue signs everywhere we went... And some good natured bickering about who got to hold the sign in the group photos with your home-owner... Good times... 2002 to 2011ish...

So let me throw this out there before someone asks....

No, I haven't heard any rumors about Project RAKE starting up again... but the website domain name has expired and I suspect the files on the old webhosting platform aren't far behind... so I'm going to try to archive as much as I can off the old website, to this page, before the website goes bust all together.

So I'm starting with the courtesy photos we uploaded for the news media folks... and then I'll do the videos (but I don't think we have them "all."

As time permits, I may dig through my archives and look for old powerpoint shows and photo highlights and drop them into folders by work-camp.

Not a month goes by where I don't hear someone express how much RAKE impacted them.... so I'm going to try to archive some of those memories, here, in case you are trying to explain RAKE to a friend, and they just don't get how special this was. But why was it special? Because God was moving... and because YOU were giving of yourself, sacrificing your time, volunteering, to serve someone else... Want to recapture that feeling? Go Serve Someone :-)
