This boat is brand new. It was built in June, 2017 under the supervision of B&B designers and it has never been launched. It comes with all spars, lines, sail and oars, complete in every respect. Learn about the design and construction of this boat at B&B's website: bandbyachtdesigns.co...

Advanced Sea-Legs sailors navigated through thick fog yesterday to reach Stonington Harbor (leaving from Thames.R) and a second group brought the boat back in the afternoon. This required a high level of navigation (dead reckoning) and carefully keeping on course. Ram Island Bell Buoy was all we saw ON the sail to Stonington and about half the way back. Most of the sailors had learned to plot accurate courses on the chart, but we also had backup from our trusty Garmin.

Arriving at Dodson Boatyard, we were given free docking and treated to free ice cream cones at The Dog Scoop courtesy of Dog Watch Cafe. This is one of many ways the owners of Dog Watch have helped our program over the years. THANK YOU CLAY, WENDY, AND DAVID.

The event was a great success. As expected, Quentin shared his vast experience resurrecting famous boats. Phil Caputo, author of The Voyatge, was there. Frank Mason and Clay Burkhalter's photography work was on display--along with the traditional work by Soderberg.
Thanks to everyone who showed up to support Sea-Legs, Inc. .

Now we are all in with the task of getting boats ready for summer.
Apprentices are working longer hours.

We are seeking volunteers, especially someone with enough computer savvy to take on this page and manage our website.

Terrier is a Bruce Kirby designed yawl that was built privately by a master builder from Stonington. She was donated to Sea-Legs, Inc.by an estate and we are currently sailing her with our kids.

We had her appraised for our insurance and the surveyor valued her at $45,000. She will go on the market shortly. Please contact us if you would be interested in owning a unique and exquisite craft.

Ahoy Friends of Sea-Legs. West Marine is hosting a Grand Opening Gala for their Old Saybrook Store early in April.

Sea-Legs, Inc. and other charities have been asked to help promote this event and we will directly benefit, if full, for every $10 ticket sold.

The event will include music, food and raffles/auction of maritime items at the Old Saybrook store adding still more to the fun of the party, the promotion of the story and dollars for charity.

I need to get a reading of how many tickets we might be able to sell before I can commit to this event. It will be good for us and a fun time, but we have to sell at least 50 tickets.
Are there 50 folk out there who will buy one in advance?

Please reply if you will. [email protected] (aka.) Dick Lathrop.
