Family Resource Centers provide access, within a community, to early childhood and family support services which foster the development of children and families. Playgroup: The Family Resource Center offers FREE Play & Learn and Gross Motor playgroup opportunities for children birth to 5 years of age and their caregivers. *Playgroups support children’s social development, ease the transition to sc

Resource & Referrals: Our goal is to guide, support and connect families with resources within the community to help meet basic needs. The FRC can refer to services such as Birth to 3, occupational therapy, childcare, adult education services, mental health services, etc. Developmental Screening: Our program provides ASQs (Ages & Stages Questionnaire) for children birth to 5 year of age. These questionnaires are designed to screen the developmental performance of children in the areas of communication, gross and fine motor skills, problem solving, and personal-social skills. The age-appropriate questionnaire is completed by the parent or caregiver. Parent Education & Family Support: As certified Parent Educators through Parents As Teachers, the FRC promotes optimal early development, learning and health of children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers. This service offers one on one support to families from prenatal to 5 years of age. We discuss a wide range of developmental topics such as; potty training, nutrition, sleep, prenatal support, etc.

Please join us with your child(ren) to tour our CFA New London Early Childhood Development Center at 7 Vauxhall Street, New London, CT to explore the world of Sensory Development! We will have finger painting, water & sand play, sensory bottles, art projects, and science experiments. We will also have a teacher-led homemade "playdough" activity, as well as refreshments!
