JOIN US next Wednesday for the online panel “The Power of Coalitions to Fight Against the Billionaire Agenda” with the Rutgers’ Center for Innovation in Worker Organization Fellow Norma Martinez Ho-Sang, our coalition director! She will be joined by others in the coalition to discuss why this moment calls for unity across labor, community, faith, and nonprofit advocacy to build the power we need to win against organized capital and authoritarianism.🔸Link in bio to register 🔸https://rutgers.zoom.us/meeting/register/NomdeAVQQ9ydsAnGwgQLDg

Today at the steps of the CT Supreme Court “SB-397 Democracy and Government Accountability” was signed into law by Governor Lamont. We are incredibly grateful and proud for the collective work from our coalition partners, allies, and legislative champions that made protecting Connecticut from Federal attacks possible.

When labor, community, and faith organizations come together to fight for justice, we are unstoppable! An important win for our 2026 Stand Up CT campaign, and for all working people in our state 🔥

Thousands of workers, immigrants, students, and community members filled the streets of Hartford on Friday, May 1st, leading what organizers are calling the largest May Day mobilization in Connecticut in decades. The action anchored a statewide day of protest across Hartford, New Haven, and Willimantic as part of the national May Day Strong movement.

At the center of the mobilization, Hartford became the primary site of political action, where workers demanded an end to billionaire-driven policymaking and called for urgent investments in housing, healthcare, education, and immigrant justice.

Private equity’s takeover of housing and healthcare is devastating lives and hollowing out communities. Predatory practices are driving up costs, cutting care, and putting profits over people—while corporations and billionaires reap the rewards. It’s time for stronger protections, real accountability, and policies that put communities first.

Today was Tax Day! Today we came together to demand Tax Equity and say
"Tax the Rich, Fund Connecticut!"
"Fund Families, Not Billionaires"

Many of our coalition partners joined us to deliver over 1500 postcards to and the Legislative Leadership, demanding them to take action against the federal attacks that are hurting thousands of families across the state.

We were also joined by multiple Mr. Moneybags with "Tax Me" Signs.

FUND FAMILIES, NOT BILLIONAIRES

Connecticut must meet the moment. Together, we will move from analysis of local challenges to disciplined, collective nonviolent action at the state level. We’ll build the unity, skill, and courage to act in coordinated and powerful ways, preparing to confront authoritarianism, challenge inequality, and grow the organized people power needed to win lasting change

The array of attacks on democracy and workers’ rights present an opportunity to expand labor’s power—if unions are willing to seize it.
