Warm weather is here, and the New Lisbon Lions are already hard at work! We were proud to complete our second ramp of the year, building a 30‑foot permanent wood ramp for a wonderful neighbor.

A huge thank‑you to Lenny's Lumber for their support — partnerships like this help us change lives.

Lions make an impact locally and globally. We step up to serve, support those in need, and strengthen our communities.

When you become a Lion, you gain opportunities to give back, learn new skills, and take part in meaningful hands‑on service.

Join us — you can make a difference, too.

The New Lisbon Lions are proud to support the Living Food Pantry at the New Lisbon School District through our involvement with the Healthy Foods Community Action Team (CAT). This team was formed to address an important need identified in Juneau County: improving access to healthy and nutritious food.

Funding for the Living Food Pantry was provided through a Fit Families grant, a program that promoted healthy eating, nutrition education, and physical activity.

For Lions, addressing hunger means more than simply providing food. It means helping ensure that individuals and families have access to nutritious foods that support health, learning, and overall well-being.

The Healthy Foods CAT has completed or partnered on a variety of projects, including:

• Resource brochures highlighting healthy food sources throughout Juneau County
• Suggested donation lists featuring healthier food pantry options
• Grow a Row initiatives
• Grocery store tours
• Healthy Food Choice shelf talkers
• Build Your Own Garden events
• The Living Food Pantry grant project
• Food distribution boxes

You can help make a difference, too. As you plant your garden this season, consider growing an extra row of produce to donate. Fresh produce can be dropped off at the New Lisbon Memorial Library for placement on the community food cart. You can also donate healthy, non-perishable food items at the library.

Together, we can help ensure that everyone in our community has access to healthy food options.

At our most recent monthly meeting, the New Lisbon Lions proudly recognized three dedicated members for their years of service and commitment to our club and community: Denise Fleming for 31 years of service, Kyle Gregar for 20 years, and Drea Bliss for 10 years.

Together, they represent an incredible 61 years of living the Lions motto, “We Serve.” Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to helping others continue to make a lasting impact in New Lisbon and beyond.

Congratulations and thank you for your outstanding service!

On Monday, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy each day and their courage will never be forgotten.

This Memorial Day, the New Lisbon Lions Club encourages our community to pause, reflect, and give thanks to all who made the ultimate sacrifice.

May we always remember their service, their dedication, and the families who continue to carry their legacy.

At last Wednesday’s monthly Lions Club meeting, members had the opportunity to hear presentations from two outstanding organizations: Community Meals & More and Community Tides.

Julie Mecikalski and Dustin Nicholson shared information about several important community needs, including limited food pantry hours, the lack of senior meal sites available in New Lisbon, the community care cabinets located throughout Juneau County — including the cabinet at the New Lisbon Memorial Library — and their mobile food delivery network that assists individuals who are unable to travel.

These organizations are making a meaningful impact by serving those in need throughout our area. The Lions Club was honored to support their efforts and encourages the community to assist these groups in any way possible.

The New Lisbon Lions spent a couple of hours in the wet ditches along State Road 80 between the train tracks and Zindorf Road after the heavy rains in April cleaning up the garbage accumulated over the winter.

Thanks to the soggy members who helped clean up. A clean town is a proud town!
