We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, student pilots, pilots, spouses, and friends who get together to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local community and have a lot of fun doing so. Join the fun! Come to our next meeting or event as our guest. Our meetings are normally held at the Airport Authority Building of the Acadiana Regional Airport at 1404 Hangar Drive, New Iberia, on the second Saturday of each month. Breakfast about 8:30. Business meeting at 10. Our chapter is part of the worldwide network of EAA chapters. EAA embodies the spirit of aviation through the world's most engaged community of aviation enthusiasts. EAA's 170,000 plus members enjoy the fun and camaraderie of sharing their passion for flying, building and restoring recreational aircraft. . Pray for this young lady, Kyli. She was seriously injured in a boating accident last week and has a long recovery ahead.

Please pray for Kyli Everett, the young girl who was airlifted to the hospital from the airport Saturday night after a boating accident. Someone posted on the page this screenshot of an update from her mother. Her injuries are much more critical than I originally thought. It is a really sad situation and I felt compelled to ask for your prayers. If anyone has any updates, please comment here. I really hope to hear soon that her surgeries were successful and that she will be able to make a full recovery.

It is with a heavy heart that I report EAA Chapter 1490 has officially closed its doors.

​I originally launched this page back in 2012, handing over the reins to the acting President when I moved overseas in 2014. Just before recently returning home to Louisiana, I reached out to some of the chapter members and learned the sad news. A massive thank you to everyone who followed this page over the years, and a special shout-out to the loyal members who stuck together and fought to keep the chapter flying until the very end. Your passion for aviation is what made it special.

​A New Chapter Begins...

​While one hangar closes, another opens. Moving back to Louisiana allowed me to finally fulfill a lifelong dream: owning my own private airstrip!

​The field has been around since the 1970s and has an incredible, unique history. In fact, I just launched a dedicated page for it yesterday, and it’s already amazing to see people dropping in to share their old memories and stories of the strip.
