A NEW CHAPTER: PUSH — Faith, Partnership, and Purpose Open Doors for New Transitional Home
By SUN ONLINE TIMES Staff
A powerful milestone of faith, service, and community collaboration was celebrated this week as Rev. Wilford Johnson and Mrs. Susan Johnson, alongside partners and supporters, marked the opening of a new transitional and sober living home for men in Jeanerette, Louisiana.
The home, known as S.A.F.E. House, stands as a beacon of restoration for individuals seeking stability, sobriety, and a second chance. With the message displayed prominently on its wall — “There’s No Place Like Home” — the residence symbolizes more than shelter. It represents healing, accountability, and a pathway forward.
This initiative reflects the spirit of PUSH — Pray Until Something Happens, a theme that attendees said perfectly captures the journey behind the project. What began as a vision rooted in faith has now become a tangible space designed to uplift men in transition and guide them toward productive, purpose-driven lives.
The home features comfortable shared living areas, furnished bedrooms, a kitchen for communal meals, and spaces intended to foster fellowship, reflection, and personal growth. Organizers emphasized that the environment was intentionally designed to feel welcoming and dignified — a place where residents can rebuild confidence while preparing for long-term independence.
Community leaders and supporters noted that projects like this are essential, especially at a time when many families and neighborhoods are seeking solutions that address recovery, housing stability, and personal transformation simultaneously.
Rev. Johnson expressed gratitude to every volunteer, donor, and partner who contributed time, resources, and encouragement to make the vision possible. Supporters described the opening not just as a ribbon-cutting, but as the beginning of a mission — one focused on restoring lives and strengthening the community from within.
As faith leaders often remind us, meaningful change begins when compassion meets action. With its doors now open, the S.A.F.E. House stands ready to serve as both refuge and launching pad for men determined to start again.
