Sam Baynes is our new Uniserve director

He shared a story at the April meeting that when he was Principal, he was sued and he needed a lawyer and the school district would not supply one and would not give them their attorney so he had to go out and find one on his own and the lawyer wanted a $20,000 Retainer fee. He had forgotten he was part of LAE! When he remembered he realized he had a teachers union who can fight for him and doesn’t charge a retainer fee. Dues include insurance for that service. That is one reason why, well the main reason why, most teachers are part of a teachers union

It is time to vote! I love Ms. Cynthia Henderson. She took me under her wing at my first NEA Rep Assy in Boston. I did not know what I was to do but she guided me and mentored me that week so I fell in love with the NEA democratic process.
