Huron Valley Audubon Society As a chapter of Michigan Audubon, HuronValley Audubon Society works to inform and inspire an appreciate all of nature. Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m.

Established in 1995, HVAS presents programs that will inform and inspire people to learn about the natural world around them. on the second Monday of each month from March through December. Meetings are held at the Kensington Metropark Nature Center. All meetings are fee and open to the public. We take field trips throughout the year that focus on either species or habitats of many varieties. We h

What a great day for the annual Dan Minock Memorial Duck Watch. We had two people that came join us for the first time, welcome! I don't think we have ever had a better weather day. The waterfowl was spread out, but we still had some good finds. A Lesser Black-backed gull hiding among the many Ring-billed gulls. Buffleheads, Lesser Scaups, and a group of Trumpeter Swans.

HVAS will host our annual Duck Watch on Sunday, November 23. We meet in the West Boat Launch parking lot at 1:00 pm. We will travel through the park stopping at key sites. We will have several telescopes to view the waterfowl. All are welcome, no experience necessary.

Looks to be a great day for Saturday's Bird Count at Kensington. We meet at the West Boat Launch parking lot at 7:30 am. We divide into six groups each with a leader. Bring a snack and water and plan to be out for about 4 hours. If you'd like to stay for the tally, bring a lunch. No experience necessary. We'd love to meet you.

On Sunday the 21st of September we will be visiting Burke Lake Banding station for a couple of hours. We plan on arriving there between 8:00am and 8:30am. After we leave the banding station we will go to Corey Marsh to bird a bit there too and we will have lunch there so pack a lunch and join us for a fun day.
