The prophet Hosea warns, “They became an abomination like the thing they loved.”
You will become like the god you worship. If it is anything besides the one true God… you become an abomination, like the thing you serve. Nothing or No one comes before God.
This does not imply that it is ”ok” to have other gods, as long as they line up behind the true God. There are to be no other gods before the sight of the true God in our life.
God demands to be more than added to our life. We don’t just add Jesus to the life we already have. We must give Him all our life.
