New Hope Helping Presents 8 Scholarships to NHS Seniors

Helping New Hope School seniors take their next step in education and life.

July 5th at New Hope Solebury High School was a great day for graduating senior scholars. The annual awards night was filled with recognition for students who had done great work, and scholarships for students that qualified for funding toward their ongoing education.

In the 75 years that New Hope Helping has been supporting the community, scholarships for graduating NHS students have long been a focus for the group. With the cost of college going up, it’s more important than ever to help students move on to the next step in their education. Scholarships are a key component in the support that students at New Hope Solebury School get from New Hope Helping, in addition to the funding of various projects and programs.

This year, New Hope Helping presented a total of 8 scholarships with 6 funded from the charity’s cultural event fundraising through the New Hope Auto Show, Car and Coffee, New Hope Tennis Tournament, and New Hope Concerts. In addition, 2 scholarships are funded from the Steven Buck/Hardy Bush Memorial Golf Tournament. Altogether a total of $40,000 of scholarships were awarded at the event. The New Hope Helping board of directors offers their sincere congratulations and best wishes for all the scholarship recipients.

New Hope Helping celebrates its 75th anniversary of supporting health, education and relief for New Hope and the surrounding communities. To get involved and have a direct positive impact on your local community, reach out to the organization to volunteer or make donation at:

New Hope Helping helps fund Sound System for NHSD Asplundh Stadium

Local charity New Hope Helping has helped fund the new sound system at the New Hope Solebury School Asplundh Stadium. With connections to the engineers at Electro-Voice and Dynacord, the group was able to provide a full design and buy the speakers and amps for the stadium.

The sound system was a much-needed component for the stadium, and it was designed for the best coverage in the stands while minimizing sound to the surrounding neighborhoods. Speakers all around the new field house help people hear the action on the field hundreds of feet away. The sound system was installed and programmed by systems integrator AVS Installations. The whole system turns on and operates at the touch of a button.

The system was a way for the charity to draw on expertise from systems designers and put their funding to work for the school for this special project. Each year New Hope Helping contributes several scholarships to NHS seniors to help pay for college or trade school. It’s all part of their mission of supporting health, education and relief for New Hope and the surrounding communities.

New Hope Helping celebrates 75 years of serving the people though enriching events including The New Hope Auto Show, New Hope Concerts, New Hope Tennis Tournament and The Stephen Buck/Hardy Bush Memorial Golf Tournament. New Hope Helping 2024 in the Rearview Mirror

The longstanding New Hope charity looks back on 2024 accomplishments and looks forward to its 75th anniversary in 2025.

New Hope, PA--Looking back at 2024 gives a view of meaningful community service for New Hope Helping. The volunteer charity organization funded more support initiatives than ever before. A host of community events provides the funding for programs while enriching the community. The events that bring the funding and community together are:

The New Hope Auto show
New Hope Concerts
New Hope Road Rally
Cars and Coffee
The Steven Buck, Hardy Bush Golf Tournament
New Hope Tennis Tournament

A year of giving: New Hope Helping increased its support of New Hope School students to be the single largest contributor of scholarships for graduating New Hope High School seniors. In addition, the organization has funded the equipment and coordinated engineering services for the sound system at the new Asplundh Stadium. The group also helped fund the main hallway mural at the New Hope Lower Elementary school and donated to the NHS Band Boosters program to support the next generation of musicians.

The holidays are an important time for New Hope Helping when the group mobilizes to give support to families and seniors in need. At Thanksgiving, the organization funded 35 meals for families with Giant Supermarket cards for a complete thanksgiving dinner. New Hope Helping also partnered with Fisherman’s Mark to sponsor 30 seniors in need for the holidays. In addition, dozens of children received gifts for the holidays from Fisherman’s Mark with the help of funding from New Hope Helping. The group also partnered with the Gene Epstein Foundation to match funds to support holiday senior’s programs in Bucks County.

As the group looks to 2025, New Hope Helping will celebrate 75 years of serving the New Hope and Solebury communities. There will be festivities and a summer celebration with beautiful cars, great music and food. Great Final Show for New Hope Concerts with Calla Bere and the Attitude

A spectacular finish to the New Hope Concert Series--great weather, great audience and great music. Calla Bere and the Attitude delivered an amazing set of the soulful rock that they are known for.

With a full house (or courtyard in this case) the audience of all ages was treated to some of the best original music New Hope has to offer. The response and the excitement in the air reminded people just how good it can be to hear live music at a great venue.

Big thanks go out to all of the people that helped make this year's concerts a reality. The shows were made possible by a grant from The Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation, a fantastic venue from the Bucks County Playhouse, sound gear from Electro-Voice, and financial support from local sponsors John and Peters, The Dubliner, and Havana.

The proceeds go to the show promotion and expenses, and a substantial contribution to the New Hope-Solebury School Band Boosters Program to support the next generation of musicians.

Look for a new series of concerts next fall.
