Did you know that the Towpath has mile markers along the entire 58.9 miles? The first markers were put at Mile 15, 29 and 46 in 2004. They were made of black granite so they can last for years. Seen here is Peter Sperry, who wrote the Delaware Canal Landmark and Mileage Chart, installing mile marker #11 and mile marker #41. Giving Pond Recreation Area - A Harmful Algal Bloom has been detected. Please be cautious if choosing to do any recreational activities on or in the water, and DO NOT consume the water. Any pets brought to the Giving Pond should also not drink the water.
