Please welcome our new member — GENENE.

We are thrilled to introduce Genene Wallis-McGrath, who brings over 15 years of professional experience to Yu.S.Artistry.

Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Genene holds a BA in Dance from Point Park University and has performed with:
• Missouri Contemporary Ballet
• Peridance Contemporary Dance Company
• Met Dance
• Houston Contemporary Dance Company (founding member)

She has premiered works by Jack Wolff, Autumn Eckman, Margot Gelber, Rosie Herrera, Jessica Hendricks, Kiesha Lalama, Kiki Lucas, Robbie Moore, Igal Perry, Joshua L. Peugh, Katarzyna Skarpetowska, and Mario Zambrano.
She has also performed repertoire by Peter Chu, Joe Celej, Kyle Abraham, Camille A. Brown, Dwight Rhoden, Caleb Mitchell, and Andrea Dawn Shelley.

Her touring credits include Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out Stage, Green Box Arts Festival, Dallas Dance Fest, Austin Dance Festival, Spring to Dance (with Met Dance and MCB), Red Rock Dance Festival, and a debut with the Houston Symphony in 2019.

Genene also has extensive teaching experience, including five years as Studio and Education Director at the Institute of Contemporary Dance, and work with the award-winning Dance Dynamics team in Spring, Texas.

We are excited to welcome her to our creative journey.

2 more semesters till. Complete MFA. I’ve studied a lot about dance history and philosophy which is really interesting for me. I’d love to keep explore the rest of life.
