Bags of Blessings The Bags of Blessings is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available: weekends and holiday breaks.

Bags of Blessings (BOB) is a ministry of The CARE Center. The CARE Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit, faith based ministry. BOB was born out of The New Hope Children's Clinic diagnosed a pattern of Monday morning tummy aches as a result of weekend hunger. The children who receive BOB are on the free breakfast and lunch program at school and often go without proper nutrition and sometimes no food at

all over a weekend break. BOB serves children at New Hope Elementary School, Madison County Elementary School, and Owens Cross Roads Elementary School. Our program will provide nutritious meals and snacks for these children. Currently serving ages K - 8th grade at New Hope Schools, readiness, pre-K, at OCRES, and K - 4th at MCES. We recognize that there is still an unmet need for children who continue to have a hunger crisis, but funding is limited. Please pray with us that we can support their needs as we continue to seek financial support. Our goal is to raise enough funding and awareness that we can bring BOB to all kids on the free breakfast and lunch program at all 3 schools because no kid should ever go hungry. Update: MCSS will provide access to free lunches for students beginning tomorrow, Monday, March 16th from 11AM-1PM. Both NHES and MCES have been designated as feeding sites. Lunches will be available Monday-Friday during this time frame through April 3rd. Children who receive Bags of Blessings at NHES, NHHS or OCRS are welcome to pick-up their Break Bags of Blessings (which is a large tote filled with food) at The CARE Center's Food Pantry tomorrow, Monday, March 16th between 9AM-12PM or at Redemption Church between 4PM-6PM -OR- Tuesday, March 17th at Redemption Church between 9AM-12PM or 4PM-6PM. The CARE Center's Food Pantry is located at 5039 Main Dr. in New Hope. Redemption Church is located at 142 A&F Smith Rd. in Owens Cross Roads. This is the church on Hwy 431S with a pond in front. Enter into the metal building through the glass doors and someone will be there to greet you. If you are not able to pick-up your child's Bag of Blessings for any reason during the scheduled times, please call our office at 256.723.2273 and leave a message or send us an email at [email protected].

The deadline has been extended thru May 25 for students on free or reduced lunch at school. $7 cash / student required during registration. Stop by the food pantry to register today from 2-5, Saturday from 9-12, or Wednesday 9-12.
