CMRS is rooted in the community, we work to create opportunities for individuals to engage in respectful and productive conversations, resulting in better understanding and creative, concrete solutions. Our free or low fee services are there for you at any stage of life’s community dispute resolution needs, from personal, neighborhood, business, schools, and court systems.

We provide culturally and linguistically responsive services through our partnerships with community-based organizations to improve the efficacy of our outreach efforts across the communities we serve.

As a core service area, CMRS housing services incorporate institutional and community-based approaches. In courts, we use mediation services to offer alternative agreements for housing rather than eviction. Oftentimes, mediation can help residents remain housed while they form payment plans, wait on rental assistance, or co-create alternatives that are specific to their cases. In the community, housing mediations are frequently bundled with financial resources as we work to reduce the “resource runaround” for renters and property owners.
