If you don’t know how parent organizations (PTA, PTO, etc) supports students across Robbinsdale Area Schools, you might be surprised at all they do.

While each organization is going to be different between schools, common areas of support involve field trip assistance, classroom supply support, school assemblies, community gatherings, unique learning opportunities, staff appreciation, and so much more.

They also are a fantastic way to get to know staff and school administration and other parents in your school community. Oftentimes, efforts by these organizations are driven by the same handful of people who show up time and time again, and they need your help.

Every little bit helps and the more people who can commit a couple of hours a month, the more that can be done. Keep an eye out during open houses this week for opportunities to get connected to your school’s organization and if your school doesn’t have one-feel free to message us and we can point you to resources to learn how to start one.

Every month, we will host a one-hour training session on Zoom that will equip you with the tools to feel confident in your message to district leaders. You'll walk away with an easy-to-follow 4-step guide to craft a personal yet impactful statement, along with a clear understanding of why participating in this public process is crucial in influencing decisions.

The next school board listening session is September 1, so you will have plenty of time to write something after this training. Register via the link below. The Zoom link will be emailed one hour before the start of the training.

If you have not already done so, please complete the annual update for the school district in your parent portal.
