Yesterday, I had the honor of attending the Lynn County First Annual 9/11 Memorial at Tahoka ISD alongside members of the NHISD Student Council. Together, we walked approximately 2,200 steps, the equivalent of roughly 110 stories, in remembrance and respect for the men and women who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
As the Chief of Police for New Home ISD, I am incredibly proud to represent our school, but even more proud to have our Student Council members beside me, representing true New Home Pride and American Pride. A special thank you to the Lynn County Sheriff’s Office and Investigator M. Hurd for the invitation and for organizing such an incredible event honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
We remember the first responders who ran toward the danger while others were running out, and the brave men and women who answered the call to serve our country in the years that followed. We honor their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting others and defending our freedom.
My sincere thanks to NHISD administration for allowing us to participate in this meaningful event, and to our Student Council members for representing New Home with such pride, respect, and patriotism. I could not be prouder of them.
Today and always, we pray for strength, comfort, and peace for the families who lost loved ones. May we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, and the sacrifices that followed. God bless our first responders, God bless our military, and God Bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸🙏
