Please join us in welcoming our new HomeEnergy ConneCT Data Management VISTA, Leah Mueller!

Leah is a recent graduate from the University of Vermont with a degree in Sustainability, Ecology, and Policy. Prior to joining NHS, Leah gained experience as a Solar Market and Policy Research Summer Intern for a private solar developer, she was the Climate Resilience and Engagement Intern for the Vermont Climate Action Office, and a Research Assistant in the University of Vermont’s Department of Political Science. She has presented her research “Conflicting Fairness Ideas in Living Wage Law Conflicts: Investigating the DC Large Retailer Accountability Act” as a panelist at the 2026 New England Political Science Association’s annual conference.

Throughout her year-long term with NHS, Leah is working to streamline data systems and processes to advance the HomeEnergy ConneCT program’s efficiency, impact, and customer experience.

In her free time, you can find Leah hiking, biking, gardening, and camping or spending time on the couch knitting and crafting with her two cats.

A big thank you to the students from Choate Rosemary Hall for spending the day volunteering in the Ivy Street Community Garden! 🌱

The group helped transplant seedlings into our hügelkultur mounds, worked in the compost system, and created borders along the fence for perennial flowers. Their hard work is helping our community garden continue to grow and thrive! 🌼

Whether you are new to grant writing or looking to improve your skills, this workshop will cover where to look for funding opportunities, what makes a strong proposal, and how to approach the grant writing process.

We're reflecting on NeighborWorks Week (NeighborWorks America) and need to give a huge shoutout to the Hopkins School Seniors who did incredible work in the Ivy Street Community Garden! They helped with planting seedlings, watering plants, and building hugelkultur mounds.

We're especially grateful to Doreen Abubakar for always sharing CPEN - Community Place-making Engagement Network's space and welcoming us in the Learning Corridor for some reprieve under the pavilion.

Thank you all! It takes a village! 🏡🌱🥦
