Students Organize for Syria at Yale

Students Organize for Syria at Yale Students Organize for Syria at Yale is the student led initiative for Syria. Students Organize for Syria (SOS) is the student-led movement for Syria.

We exist to assist the Syrian people in their effort to build a self-determined, pluralistic society by standing in solidarity with them, raising awareness of their cause, and helping to alleviate the current humanitarian crisis in Syria. We believe that students are the educated individuals who are key to this effort and so, we are mobilizing like- minded, ambitious students at campuses nationall

y to “organize for Syria”. Student activism is a vital tool for social change and together, we can make a difference.

Aleppo is Burning. Aleppo is Burning and they need us, as citizens of this world, to extend any form of support to them in this time of utter devastation.
UOSSM USA, a reputable non-profit NGO known for its long history of extensive medical work in Syria, has launched an emergency fundraiser to rebuild two of the medical centers indiscriminately targeted and destroyed, taking the life of the last pediatrician in Aleppo.
$5 is enough to cover a visit to Al Marjeh, the primary healthcare clinic that was destroyed.
and our time to act is NOW.

SOS at Yale meets Brandon Stanton Humans of New York.

Among the topics of discussion were the ways in which his work impacts the lives of individual refugees as well as the perception towards the refugee population that is unjustly feared by too many. His work humanizes what tends to fall down to statistics and sheds light on the capabilities and talent ubiquitous among Syrians that are often overlooked due to their refugee status.

We have joined over 30 other universities in petitioning our administration to increase recruitment of Syrian refugees and offer scholarships for qualified Syrian students as a stand for their right to an education. Millions of Syrian high school graduates and college students have been forced to leave their studies and pursuit for a higher education.

Yale should follow its promise of being accessible to the most talented students in the world despite economic and social background by making itself accessible to talented and qualified Syrian refugees.
