Everybody knows the definition of pain, but the real question is, can your emotional intelligence sustain you when life falls apart?

What happens when your house burns down and your only option is racing to get in line at a shelter, hoping there’s somewhere to sleep that night?

This is the reality for too many people returning home.
Not because they lack effort. Not because they lack growth. But because stability is still out of reach.

With the right support system, this young man now has a room. A place to lay his head. A place to breathe. A place to rebuild in peace.

Housing is bigger than shelter. It’s security. It’s healing. It’s a second chance.

We’re also honoring our Executive Director, Alden Woodcock, as he prepares to transition from EMERGE at the end of this year. Alden has built EMERGE to the highest mountain possible and cultivated a strong, committed team to carry the legacy forward in New Haven and now Bridgeport. We are forever grateful.

Last week we proudly celebrated our Circle of Security graduation at EMERGE Connecticut Inc! 🎓💙

Over the course of this 8-chapter curriculum, our crew members took a deep dive into understanding the ‘top and bottom of the circle,’ explored the importance of Being With, and identified how their own shark music shows up when engaging with their children or little ones. These powerful lessons allowed each participant to strengthen their connection, empathy, and awareness in their roles as caregivers — building safer and more secure relationships with the ones they love most. 💫

As we closed out this program, we took a special moment to honor and thank Cordell Pemberton for his many years of dedication, leadership, and heart as a Circle of Security facilitator at EMERGE. His commitment has impacted countless lives, and we are deeply grateful for his service. 🙌

We’re also thrilled to welcome our newest facilitators — Cashmere, Jocelyn, and Ra — who will continue carrying forward the mission of guiding future crew members through this transformative program. 🌱

Congratulations to all of our graduates! Your growth, openness, and courage to do the inner work inspires us all. We are so proud of you! 💙✨

On August 14th, we cut the ribbon on our second location in Bridgeport! 🎉✂️ What a powerful day filled with community, inspiration, and celebration. Guest speakers reminded us just how meaningful this milestone is — not just for EMERGE, but for the lives and futures we’re building together. 💙
