Last week, our team trekked to Pennsylvania for the Northeast Regional Conference for United Ways. Our Volunteer and Engagement team was selected to present on our volunteer program and its successes. Through our volunteer program we have been able to deepen our impact throughout the region. From food pantries, to reading events, to helping neighbors file their taxes, our volunteer program strives to keep our community connected to valuable resources and opportunities for collaboration.

United Way volunteers support pantries throughout and bi-weekly at the Hamden Mobile Food Pantry and the Farnam Mobile Food Pantry. Our partnerships across Greater New Haven are designed to create a unified food system to ensures equitable, dignified, and culturally appropriate access to nutritious food for all residents of Greater New Haven. When we come together we can build a community where everyone has access to nourishing food.

The R2 application is open with an information session on June 16.

United Way volunteers don't miss a beet! We partnered with Massaro Community Farm of Woodbridge, CT to clean up and plant seedlings for the upcoming growing season. Thank you Massaro Community Farm for having us for our first volunteer event in Woodbridge of the year.
