There’s nothing like being in a room full of purpose, power, and sisterhood. 🖤💛

Yesterday at the African American Women’s Summit, we gathered in purpose, power, and sisterhood to advance the work of uplifting Black women and girls.

We were honored to welcome CT Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas, who led a powerful voter education session reminding us of the importance of civic engagement, access, and protecting the integrity of our elections.

As an advocacy organization, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., New Haven Metropolitan Chapter remains committed to raising awareness around the issues that impact our communities—and today’s Summit was that mission in action.

Through workshops on:
• Civic Engagement & Voter Education
• Sister-Nomic$ & Wealth Building
• Health & Wellness — Move More, Sit Less

We continue to educate, empower, and elevate.
This is what leadership looks like. This is what impact feels like.

Dear NCBW Sisters,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved sister, Carolyn Vermont.

During this time of sorrow, we pause to honor Carolyn’s life, her sisterhood, and the many ways she touched our organization and each of us personally. Carolyn was a charter member of NCBW and faithfully served on various committees, helping to lay the foundation and strengthen the work of our chapter through her dedication and leadership. Her presence, commitment, and spirit will remain a lasting part of our NCBW family. We know that words cannot fully ease the grief we feel, but we stand together in love and support for one another as sisters.

Let us keep Carolyn’s family, loved ones, and all who were blessed to know her in our thoughts and prayers. May we also find comfort in our shared memories and in the strength of our sisterhood.

Additional details regarding arrangements and ways we may collectively honor Carolyn will be shared as they become available.

With deepest sympathy and sisterly love

With heavy hearts, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. New Haven Metropolitan Chapter honors the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr.

A civil rights giant, servant leader, and unwavering advocate for justice, Reverend Jackson dedicated his life to expanding opportunity, demanding equity, and reminding this nation that justice requires courage and action. His voice and vision helped move America closer to its promise.

He believed deeply in the power of community and in the leadership of Black women. His legacy challenges us to continue the work with purpose, conviction, and hope.

As we reflect, we recommit ourselves to advocacy, leadership, and service in our communities. We will carry forward his call to keep hope alive and ensure justice is not just promised, but delivered.

Rest in power, Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr.
