Please join us in welcoming our new conductor, Thomas Nettle! Thomas Nettle is a British conductor currently studying at Yale School of Music with Peter Oundjian. Prior to this he studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Ole Kristian Ruud and Rolf Gupta. In Norway, Thomas was fortunate to work with many of Norway’s leading orchestras and ensembles, such as Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Marinemusikken, Stabsmusikkorps and Hærens Musikkorps. He has also served as assistant conductor for the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. During his time in Oslo, Thomas also worked extensively with one of Norway’s premier youth orchestras, Nor59, and served as interim music director of Kolbu Konsertorkester in 2025. Also highly sought after as an arranger, Thomas has made arrangements for the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Dextra Musica and members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. 2026 saw Thomas serving as assistant conductor for the Peninsula Music Festival in Door County, Wisconsin, working closely with artistic director Rune Bergmann.
