From Placement to Stability: Reimagining Housing Success Beyond the Keys
CoFounder & CEO of Wealth Beacon Group WBG Yvette Glenn was honored to present at the 23rd Annual Training Institute hosted by the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH), leading a powerful session titled From Placement to Stability alongside Fateria Sheats, CAN Landlord Engagement Specialist, and Dr. Taj Burroughs, Occupational Therapist and owner of Axxis Wellness.
The workshop centered on an important truth: housing placement is only the beginning. True housing success requires ongoing support systems that help individuals and families sustain stability, build independence, and thrive within their communities.
Together, they explored the importance of integrating tenant readiness education, landlord engagement, occupational therapy perspectives, life skills development, and holistic wraparound supports into the housing process. As Connecticut continues addressing homelessness across our communities, the conversation must evolve beyond simply securing units and toward strengthening long term housing retention and quality of life.
Dr. Taj Burroughs brought an invaluable occupational therapy lens to the discussion, highlighting how functional capacity, daily living skills, wellness, and environmental supports directly impact a person’s ability to maintain stable housing. Fateria Sheats shared critical insights surrounding landlord relationships and collaborative housing solutions that foster sustainable outcomes for both tenants and property owners.
At Wealth Beacon Group Foundation, we believe stable housing is built through education, connection, accountability, wellness, and community support. Spaces like ATI are essential as leaders, providers, advocates, and community organizations come together to strengthen systems of care across Connecticut.
We are grateful to have engaged alongside so many dedicated professionals committed to ending homelessness and creating pathways toward lasting stability and dignity for all.
The work continues, and so does our commitment to helping individuals and families move beyond placement into true stability and thriving.
