We had a very successful Teacher Open House this week! 25 teachers attended and over 1200 books distributed to use in their classrooms. We’re proud to support teachers by helping provide books for students throughout our community.

The last weeks of our Summer Session were new book giveaway time at NHR!
Our students got to choose brand new books to take home to add to their home libraries. Our Bristol Street students all made amazing choices.!

Please join us in wishing a fond farewell to one of the first members of the New Haven Reads Youth Literacy Fellowship. Hera joined us in early 2026 as a high school senior at New Haven Academy. During her time as a Youth Literacy Fellow, she gained valuable experience in one-on-one literacy instruction while developing her professional expertise in preparation for her future teaching career. Her natural talents in literature have been essential to the success of her students at our Willow Street location. She has truly set the standard for the Fellowship, and we appreciate her dedication and contributions to New Haven Reads.
Hera will be attending at Tufts University, where she will study English and religious studies. She plans to pursue a career in education, in the hopes of continuing to share the joy and power of reading with future generations. Thank you, Hera--and good luck! 🧡🤍💙
