Alzheimer’s disease happens to be the most common cause of dementia.

We lost my mom in October 2012, when she was age 73, but FTD (frontal temporal dementia) had taken her away from us when she was only 64 years old or so. It took her speech, fine and gross motor skills, social graces and worst of all: her personality and ability to take care for herself. No movie will ever show the true horror of this disease.
