We are back again for the third year, providing reusable cups and a new water-filling station at the Valley Shore YMCA's Cedar Lake Tri Series! What a gorgeous day to kick off race season! Do you know of a local event like races, farmer's markets, or music concerts that would benefit from a free water-filling station to keep attendees hydrated but without the plastic waste? Reach out! We're exicited to help your community reduce waste!
Thank you to Community Foundation of Middlesex County and The Rockfall Foundation for supporting this project!

Thank you to the Community Foundation of Middlesex County and The Rockfall Foundation for funding this effort!

It’s Drinking Water Week, and it’s a reminder that safe, reliable drinking water relies on accountability, source water protection, and sustained federal investments. 💧

Behind the scenes, our drinking water systems face increasing challenges:
• More pollution entering rivers, lakes, and streams
• Emerging contaminants like PFAS
• Outdated infrastructure struggling to keep up

But there are solutions.

Holding polluters accountable, strengthening source water protections, and increasing federal investments can help protect our drinking water and public health.

At Clean Water Action, we work to address these challenges every day.

Our CT team was in Boston for a New England organizing meeting, so we made sure to join the May Day rally!

The whole Clean Water Action New England team was in Boston on May Day, so we capped off the day by joining in solidarity with youth leaders and labor! Great event by Community Labor United, Teens Lead at Work - Masscosh, and MassCOSH!

It's what we do!

Drinking Water Week is here (May 3–9), and it’s a good time to think about something we rarely notice, until it’s gone.

Safe, reliable drinking water doesn’t just happen. Behind the scenes, our water systems are under pressure from increasing pollution in rivers and streams, emerging contaminants like PFAS, and aging infrastructure that’s overdue for repair.

The good news? Solutions exist:

💧 Hold polluters accountable

💧 Protect wetlands and source water

💧 Invest in water infrastructure

These steps don’t just protect water--they protect public health. At Clean Water Action, we’re working on these solutions every day. 👉 Learn more: www.cleanwater.org/drinking-water-week-2026

The Connecticut trash crisis is not going away. We need creative solutions. Before we ask residents to fund the construction of more polluting trash-burning facilities, let’s try something proven to work - Save As You Throw programs.
